WEATHER STORY
Houston/Galveston
Weather Forecast Office
Fire Weather Tuesday Ozone Action Day Extended Weather Outlook
Warm and very dry weather will increase the risk of fire starts this week. The risk of fire starts is highest for locations near and west of the Brazos Valley Wednesday and Thursday. Take extra care to prevent starting a wildfire this week. Here is what you can do: AVOID any activities that could spark a wildfire, as fires could spread rapidly. Secure tow chains to avoid dragging and sparking. NEVER park or drive over tall grass. Contact law enforcement or the fire department if you smell smoke or see fire! NEVER toss lit cigarettes on the ground!
