Thunderstorms return to western Iowa on Thursday, with storms then moving through Iowa Thursday evening into the overnight. These storms could produce strong winds over western Iowa, before decreasing in intensity as they move eastward into central Iowa overnight. While the severe risk will be waning farther east, the threat for heavy rain will persist throughout the night. This may lead to rises on local rivers and streams, as well as flash flooding, especially in more urban areas.
