Here is a look at the second spring flood outlook of the season. Spring flood risk is generally around normal for much of the Northland, with a slight increase in the chance of flooding since last week’s winter storm. Around Lake Superior, spring flood risk is slightly above normal with well above normal snow water. One of the biggest variables in any spring flooding this year will be our frost depth and moist soils which could lead to efficient runoff if snow melts quickly or rain falls before the ground thaws.
