(Minor update to remove incorrect timestamp.) New Thurs July 2: An NWS Duluth Storm Survey determined a short tornado impacted Murphy Lake in central St Louis County (south of Eveleth, north of Cotton) from the storms late Monday night. The tornado was approximately 1.6 miles in length and rated an EF-1 with estimated peak winds of 105 mph. This information is preliminary and WILL be refined/changed based on additional drone data. NWS Duluth sincerely appreciates St Louis County Emergency Management for drone imagery and local residents for their reports! Have photos or video to share of this storm Let us know!
