Strengthening westerly flow across the Northern Rockies will initiate periods of strong winds across portions of north-central and southwest MT beginning today, with the strongest winds expected across western portions of north central MT late Thursday. Highest wind gust speeds are expected along the Rocky Mountain front where a few gusts to near 100 mph are possible as wind speeds peak late Thursday. Travel may be difficult or dangerous at times for those pulling trailers, especially along the Rocky Mountain Front.
