Hurricane Melissa is over the central Caribbean Sea about 110 miles south southeast of Kingston Jamaica. It is forecast to move slowly west today and tonight. Melissa is a Category 4 hurricane and may become a Category 5 hurricane in the next 24 hours. No significant impacts are expected for west central and southwest Florida. Residents and visitors should monitor the forecast for updates.
