🌀 Welcome to the 2025 Hurricane Season! 🌀
Today, June 1st, marks the start of the 2025 Tropical Season, which runs through November 30th.
Our friends at the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) are currently monitoring a broad area near eastern Central America/Bay of Campeche for Tropical development in the extended outlook (between about June 11th and June 17th). Chances for tropical development remain low (less than 20%) at this time. These graphics, as well as more detailed information and discussion about the CPC's forecasts, can be found at: cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/precip/CWlink/ghaz/index.php
These tropical outlook products and discussions are updated once weekly (on Tuesdays) by the CPC and are a great tool for official tropical outlooks and discussions during the 2 to 3 week time frame!
A reminder that official tropical outlooks and forecasts within the next 7 days can be found via our friends at the National Hurricane Center (NHC): nhc.noaa.gov or hurricanes.gov
