The quiet weather of the last two weeks is coming to an end as we enter a more active pattern for the second half of May. Showers and storms return to Iowa Thursday and Friday nights, with a Level 1 (of 5) Marginal Risk in place for southern portions of the state both nights. The severe weather threat increases this weekend. Most of Iowa is currently under a Level 2 (of 5) Slight Risk for Saturday and Sunday. Specific timing and intensity are still being refined. Looking ahead to Monday, another system may bring additional severe storms. With multiple rounds of storms in the forecast, heavy rain may be a factor and isolated flash flooding is possible. Stay tuned for further updates.
