For many areas over central Iowa at mid-afternoon, there is a lull in the rainfall. Additional showers though will move in and develop late this afternoon into this evening, particularly over southern Iowa. However, not all Iowans will see additional rainfall overnight. Any lingering showers on Sunday will come to an end with clouds remaining. Skies may brighten on Monday with dry conditions before rain returns to the forecast (again!) Tuesday through midweek. This rainfall may be heavy with totals over 2 inches in at least some portions of Iowa. This raises concerns for flash flooding and renewed river rises.
