Showers became less widespread over central and southern Iowa this afternoon and relatively speaking, it will be a drier period early to mid-evening. However, an area of showers accompanied by rumbles of thunder will move back across the state late this evening through Saturday morning. As this rain moves east, a lull in the precipitation is expected from later Saturday morning into mid-afternoon Saturday before spotty showers and storms develop late in the afternoon into Saturday night. Conditions will turn drier through the day Sunday with dry conditions on Monday before the next round of rain and storms arrives on Tuesday.
