Dry and mild weather will be the rule today, but scattered thunderstorms are expected late tonight into Saturday morning. Storms will be most likely in northern Iowa, but may reach as far south as Interstate 80. The overall threat of severe weather will be low, but some of the storms may produce strong wind gusts mainly in northern Iowa. Temperatures will also warm this weekend, especially on Sunday when highs will range in the low to mid-90s, with the Heat Index approaching 100 degrees in some areas. A few additional storms may also be possible Sunday afternoon and evening.
