Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms will be possible Thursday and again on Friday across southwest Kansas. At this time the main hazards both afternoons/evenings will be strong gusty winds and hail. On Thursday lightning will also be a concern, especially west of a dryline that will be located near or just east of highway 283. In this area little, if any, precipitation is expected with these storms. Lightning under these conditions may cause a higher risk of starting wildfires.
