Temperatures and snow levels will plummet behind a cold front moving through the region this afternoon and evening. This will allow for rain to transition to snow for the higher elevation areas to the north and east of Phoenix. Gusty winds causing blowing snow in combination with high snowfall rates will lead to reduced visibilities making for hazardous travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for elevations above 5000 feet where snow accumulations of 3-8" is expected, but a dusting of snow is possible down to 3500-4000 feet.
