Following a dry and slightly milder day today, there may be spotty light precipitation overnight. Should precipitation occur, if and where temperatures dip below freezing across portions of interior northern Illinois, we can’t rule out some patchy slick spots. Rain and any embedded thunderstorm chances Tuesday through Wednesday evening may end up focusing well south of I-80. Showers appear likely late Wednesday night into Thursday and then later Friday through Friday night, along with some chance for thunderstorms. Temperatures later in the week will be unseasonably mild away from Lake Michigan, especially on Friday.
