FIRE WEATHER UPDATE...
A passing disturbance, to our north, on Saturday and Sunday, will bring a period of strong west winds, starting mid-afternoon on Saturday.
Winds will further increase Saturday evening, and overnight, and continue strong much of Sunday, before turning N and NE late in the day with a cold front pushing into the area. Relative Humidity will be very low, with MinRH in the 8-12% range, and overnight RH recoveries only between 18-28%. These dry and windy conditions will combine with dry fuels, with ERCs around the 90th percentile, and abundant die back of pinon and juniper fuels to create Critical Wildland fire conditions. A FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect from noon on Saturday
through 10 PM Saturday evening...BUT...we are likely to extend that through the night, and continue it through the day on Sunday.
