Rain spreads northeast tonight becoming heaviest overnight into Tuesday morning and eventually exits the area through Wednesday. Heaviest rainfall rates from 0.1" to 0.2" per hour are possible through much of Tuesday morning primarily west of the Mississippi River Valley. Resultant highest amounts in these areas could receive more than 2" of rainfall. Low-lying, poor draining, flood susceptible areas may experience standing water where the heaviest rain falls. The gradient in higher rainfall amounts can still shift depending on exact storm track so it remains important to continue monitoring forecasts.
