High pressure will keep the Northern Rockies under a stagnant weather pattern through the weekend and much of the upcoming week. Expect valley fog, low clouds, and potential air quality issues. Please check for local burn bans.
One hiccup in the pattern arrives Monday and Tuesday. A weather system slides over the top of the ridge bringing snow to the mountains and a wintry mix (rain/snow/ice) to the valleys. Travelers should remain aware of deteriorating road conditions due to freezing fog and precipitation chances. The influence of high pressure returns, in earnest, for the remainder of the work-week.
