A significant high wind event will impact Southeast New Mexico and much of West Texas late tonight into Friday. High winds will start late tonight into early Friday morning in the Guadalupe, Delaware, and Davis Mountains and adjacent southeast New Mexico Plains, Culberson, and Reeves counties. High winds will develop over the Permian Basin by Friday morning and continue into Friday evening. A Wind Advisory will also be in effect for the Lower Trans Pecos and Big Bend region Friday morning through Friday evening. Wind gusts up to 75 mph are expected in the High Wind Warning area (even stronger up to around 90 mph in the higher terrain areas) with gusts up to 55 mph in the Wind Advisory area.
