Showers and thunderstorms return to western Iowa on Thursday, with a line of storms then moving through Thursday evening into the overnight. This line of storms could produce some strong winds over western Iowa, before diminishing as it tracks eastward into central Iowa overnight. While the severe risk will be waning farther east, the threat for heavy rain will persist throughout the night. This may lead to rises on local rivers and streams, as well as flash flooding, especially in more urban areas.
