Summer 2026 was on average, warmer and a mix of wetter than normal, and drier than normal for Northern and Central Nevada. No climate site received snowfall this period, which is normal. Summer 2026 climate data for select locations below as highlighted in the graphic. Elko: Summer 2026 was above normal with an average temperature of 72.0 degrees which was 3.8 degrees above normal, making Summer 2026 the 2nd warmest on record. Elko received 0.94” of rain, which was below average. The average rainfall is 1.24”. Ely: Summer 2026 was above normal with an average temperature of 69.2 degrees which was 3.2 degrees above normal, making Summer 2026 the 1st warmest on record. Ely received 1.27” of rain, which was below average. The average rainfall is 1.98”. Eureka: Summer 2026 was above normal with an average temperature of 69.5 degrees which was 2.9 degrees above normal, making Summer 2026 the 3rd warmest on record. Eureka received 2.70” of rain, which was above average, making Summer 2026 the 8th wettest on record. The average rainfall was 1.75”. Tonopah: Summer 2026 was above normal with an average temperature of 75.4 degrees which was 2.5 degrees above normal, making Summer 2026 the 5th warmest on record. Tonopah received 0.25” of rain, which was below average, making Summer 2026 the 6th driest on record. The average rainfall was 1.12”. Winnemucca: Summer 2026 was above normal with an average temperature of 72.7 degrees which was 2.2 degrees above normal, making Summer 2026 tied for the 3rd warmest on record. Winnemucca received 1.17” of rain, which was above average. The average for rainfall is 0.78”.
