🚨 If your late-week plans involve the backcountry or high mountain passes, it's time to reconsider. Extreme winter weather is expected from Wednesday night through Saturday (March 11-14), with the most critical danger above 5,000 feet.
We are tracking snowfall that will be measured in feet (up to 3-6 ft in some areas), alongside blizzard conditions and winds strong enough to bring down trees. Travel over Marias, Lolo, and Lost Trail passes will become treacherous. We strongly advise delaying backcountry recreation and pass travel until conditions improve. Stay safe, ensure your vehicle is equipped with a winter kit, and always check local avalanche forecasts. 🏔️❄️
