NWS Weather Forecast - Outlook: This Afternoon & Tonight
This Afternoon Patchy Fog
Hi 77 °F
NWS forecast: Patchy fog after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. West southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Davis VP+ forecast:Partly cloudy with little temperature change.
Tonight
Patchy Fog
Lo 61 °F
NWS forecast: Patchy fog. Cloudy, with a low around 61. South southwest wind 0 to 10 mph.
As a lengthy heat wave settles into the region, hot temperatures and ample instability (thanks to a moist air mass) will lead to scattered storms developing this afternoon. These conditions could produce localized damaging wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph in the strongest storms, driven by wet microbursts. Given this environment, a marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk of severe storms is forecast for this afternoon. While a marginal risk is not currently forecast for the remainder of the week, we cannot rule out an isolated strong to severe storm threat continuing on Thursday and Friday afternoons due to the hot and very unstable air mass in place.
