With the forecast pointing towards a more spring-like pattern over the next week, let’s take a look at where we stand in terms of seasonal snowfall totals. The snow we received earlier this week was enough to push us into second place all-time at the forecast office in Negaunee Township, with the period of record dating back to 1959. The winter of 2025-2026 now trails only the winter of 2001-2002 in terms of seasonal snowfall at our office, although it would still take nearly another 4 feet of snow this season to catch up to the 319.8 inches we accumulated back in 2001-2002!
