The "Endless Spring" Breaks This Week.
The persistently warm and dry ridge is FINALLY going to start breaking down. Sunday (Feb 8th) into Monday (the 9th) a cold front will sweep through the region, dropping snow levels back down to mountain pass levels.
Changes begin Sunday afternoon with precipitation chances increasing; lowest snow levels arrive by Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Impacts: Mountain travel will become more winter-like. Expect tricky driving conditions on the passes.
Primarily rain in the valleys, though a changeover / mix with snow is possible during the coldest windows.
