A moist system will bring mountain snow to the region later Sunday into Monday (Feb. 8-9). Both Lookout Pass and Marias Pass snowfall amounts have a range of 3 to 6 inches, but higher mountains could receive 5 to 12 inches. Snow levels will fall to around 3000 feet by Monday morning across northwest Montana which could bring snow down to a few valley locations. Current probabilities for snow occurring in northwest Montana above 3,000 feet are at 80 percent. Marion has a 70% chance of receiving an inch or more of snow. Even the Flathead Valley has a 50% chance of experiencing snow showers. Gusty westerly winds up to 20 to 30 mph are possible during the day Monday. Expect lower visibility and slick conditions at times at the mountain passes.
