Rain and storm chances return to the state over northern Iowa after midnight tonight. These rain chances will spread slowly southeastward into central and southern portions of the state through Tuesday and more so Tuesday night into Wednesday. While localized heavy rainfall is possible, dry soils and mature crops will lessen the flash flood risk in rural areas, though high rain rates could cause water issues in urban areas. Stay tuned for updates to the forecast in the coming day or so.
