WEATHER STORY
Los Angeles/Oxnard
Weather Forecast Office
Coastal Flooding High Rip Current Risk & Elevated Surf
A south swell combined with high tides is bringing a threat for coastal flooding for the southern California coastline through Monday night, especially for south-facing beaches near the Malibu coast. Tides are forecast to peak during the late evening hours each day, when the risk is highest for coastal flooding. High tides and elevated surf leads to sea water running farther up the beaches, increased beach erosion, and sea water flooding low beach roads and beach parking lots. Actions: Remain off rocks and jetties and always keep an eye on the ocean. Stay away from the water's edge, and do not assume dry spots are safe. Obey road closures, local law enforcement and lifeguards guidance.
